Know Activities & What to See in Ireland, Before Packing

If you want to take a road trip around the southern areas of Ireland, we would recommend Cork,  The Ring of Kerry, and Dingle Peninsula Drive in County Kerry. For County Clare, don’t miss The Cliffs of Moher and the surrounding attractions.

For those focusing on the eastern part of Ireland, County Wicklow is the place you want to see because of its landscapes and beautiful bodies of water. Kildare is also a special delight if you are into gardens, horses and designer outlets. Wexford is perfect for beach mongers.

In the north and west, focus on County Galway as this has a mixture of nature, landscapes and city life. Connemara Loop, as you are driving up north is the road trip to take as you will be graced with the magnificent Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Gardens. In County Mayo, be sure to stop by Westport for traditional Irish pubs and culture, among other things.

Traditions, Style & Culture in Ireland to Inspire your Travel Fashion

With regards to textile and fabric, wool and cotton are the most used in clothing items in Ireland, because of the cold weather that dominates. Cardigans with thick wool and in earth colors such as green, maroon and mustard are popular. Cardigans are also the best travel clothes for women in the moderate cold months as they are lighter than big coats. Boots are preferred footwear for colder months. In the summer, it could be tempting to pack sandals and flip flops; our travel fashion advice is that you pack light flat closed shoes instead, such as loafers, ballerinas, converse shoes, sneakers, and etcetera.

The evolution of style and fashion in Ireland can be understood by visiting their fashion and textile museums. Exhibitions at the National Museum of Ireland and the Little Museum of Dublin showcase the old prevalent styles. When you think about what to wear in Ireland, you would want to learn that Roman Catholic is the predominant religion therefore conservative. However, the younger generation is very liberal and more expressive in their dressing and lifestyle. In this modern era in Ireland, there are no restraints really.
