SHOPPING AT ELEPHANT’S WALK SHOPPING & ARTIST VILLAGE, VICTORIA FALLS ZIMBABWE

Elephant’s Walk Shopping & Artist Village in Victoria Falls Town, Zimbabwe, is not like any shopping place you know. This is a stretch of local artisans’ shops selling a variety of sculptures, ornaments, vases, and many other artworks you may not have seen before. The skill and attention to detail that is showcased in the artwork are grand and of a mastery level. The shops are also studios where you will see artists at work. 

You can buy items and take them with you when flying back home or ship them off if they weigh more than your luggage allowance or you don’t want to pay for them on the same flight to avoid steep costs. Some people ship their purchases off as cargo with different freight companies.

ART AFRICA SHOP

I had a long conversation with Mayor Zvawanhu while admiring sculptures sold at his shop, Art Africa, located to your right as soon as you enter the road where the Elephants Walk Shopping & Artist Village is located. The shop has countless attractive objects, some of them with stories behind them.

TSHAKA’S DEN COMPLEX CRAFT CENTER

Another shop with an interesting collection of sculptors and other objects is Tshaka’s Den Complex. Very beautifully carved artwork. There is a Happy Hippos shop next to Tshaka’s Den.

CAFES & MUSEUM

The Africa Cafe sits as the center point where you can relax and enjoy light food and drinks after browsing the artisan shops. Try their Zimbabwean coffee while there. You can also book for a predator diving session in the cafe, from there you will be directed to an enclosure where their professional handlers will oversee your diving with Nile crocodiles, tigerfish from the Zambezi River, and vundu. 

A beautiful collection of gardens bring a relaxation factor to the village. Take a stroll and enjoy the garden’s cafe while there. 

There is also Jafuta Heritage Center at the Elephant’s Walk Shopping and Artist Village where you can understand better the history and culture of Zimbabwe. The entrance to this museum is free.

The Elephant’s Walk Shopping and Artist Village is located at 253 Mosi-Oa-Tunya, you will pass the place when going or coming back from the Victoria Falls—it is easy to make a detour when you are done with the falls.
