GOLFING AT SHANGRI-LA OKLAHOMA

This Par 36 Championship course has 27 golf holes, white sand bunkers, water features, and the atmosphere is peaceful and never crowded. 10 minutes tee time can be booked by calling the hotel, for hotel guests. Members of Shangri-La Oklahoma can book online.

DINING & ROOMS

There are a few restaurants at Shangri-La Oklahoma—all equally impressive. The Summit Restaurant leads the pack with its fine dining setting welcoming customers who like to dress up, enjoy gourmet food, and see gorgeous views of Grand Lake and Monkey Island. Guests and resort members can go for lunch every day but dinner is only served from Thursday to Sunday evenings. The restaurant is open to the public on Sunday evenings for dinner. For those wanting to book the Summit Restaurant for special events such as weddings, reservation is recommended. 

The hotel is 4-starred. The rooms are very neat, comfy, and spacy. In addition to the accommodation at the hotel, Shangri-La also offers cabins near the golf course. The real estate is grand here—probably the best all-round holiday destination at Grand Lake.  

Buffalo Bar at Shangri-La Oklahoma is best for those who want a relaxed environment and for those wanting to watch sports on big screens. The bar is open every day to hotel guests and members. The public can only come on Sunday evenings. Other relaxed environments are Doc’s Bar and Grill—views of the pool and lake are beautiful from here—and Eddy’s Lakeside Bar, situated right by the lake. The lake bar is open from Friday to Sunday. 

OTHER ACTIVITIES AT SHANGRI-LA OKLAHOMA

Being located right by Grand Lake, Shangri-La Oklahoma offers a few other things to do in addition to swimming in its grand pool, golfing, and dining at its restaurants and bars.

Guided Fishing Tours: Grand Lake is known for its many fishing spots. If you are new to the area and would not know where to go for fishing, taking a guided tour offered by Shangri-La Oklahoma might be ideal. White Bass, Catfish, and other types of fish are caught, some to be taken home and some to be caught then released. 

Horseback Riding: What a better way to enjoy the Grand Lake surrounding adventurously than going on guided horse riding. Riding lessons are also available for first-time riders. 

Water activities in the Grand Lake: Grand Lake is not only known for boating—other activities such as waterboarding, sailing, yachting, parasailing, and many more—are all available at Shangri-La Marina.

Hunting: The hotel offers bird hunting. Find lots of quail at Cherokee Spur Ranch. Guides and dogs are provided. 

Casinos: There are a few casinos around Shangri-La Oklahoma—Cherokee Grove Casino is only 10 minutes away. 

Shooting Range Pavilion: Day and night shooting available. 

Pensacola Dam Tours: Pensacola Dam is a multiple-arch dam that is longest in the world. 

Shopping at Grand Lake: You can start with the Shangri-La Oklahoma resort store and the Golf Pro Shop. Then explore the Marina Ship Store. You can rent boats at Shangri-La and there are a few different places around Grand Lake where you can buy boats. 

Fireworks: During the holiday weekend of memorial day Shangri-La and other Grand Lake locations participate in hosting the Monkey Island Fireworks. It is usually a weekend of celebrations and festivities.
