Abbot Kinney Boulevard is the main shopping street in Venice, Los Angeles, that is chic and attracts the coolest people who are looking for cool places to eat, drink, as well as shop.  The street is named after Abbot Kinney, an entrepreneur and a prominent California millionaire of the 19th century. Over the years, many people including celebrities have graced the boulevard—some even bought apartments because the real estate here is premium.

Abbot Kinney Boulevard is one mile long and has restaurants, shops, art galleries, salons, gym studios, and beautiful palm trees—the stretch is full of vibrant activities and people looking very stylish—you can tell they have not made too much effort, but they still look stylish. Actually, the street was named the "Coolest Block in America" by GQ magazine.

Bohemian style is very apparent in this street, from the layouts and the clothing or home items sold in the shops to the decor and sitting areas in restaurants.

Abbot Kinney Boulevard is also known for its art and culture that is showcased through its murals and graffiti as well as galleries exhibiting different kinds of art. Actually, there are graffiti walls in many spots in Venice, especially near the beach and the boardwalk. The film industry has also acknowledged and respected the beauty and uniqueness of Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Short films and films starred by popular Hollywood actresses have been shot here—Sofia Vergara and Scarlett Johansson are some of the stars who have walked the street of Abbot Kinney.

With regards to food, there are so many food shops and restaurants in the street that offer cuisines and snacks that are your typical California delights. Vegan food is very popular in California, it seems to be a trend somehow—The Butcher's Daughter is one of the most popular juice bars offering vegan food right in this neighborhood.  After visiting the restaurants and shops, head over to Venice Canals for a quiet stroll.
