KUALA LUMPUR TRAVEL GUIDE
Best Things to Do in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Basic Information & Experience
Kuala Lumpur has so much to offer regarding attractions, food, and culture. We knew we were pressed for time, so we decided to visit the main attractions first, then explore other venues only if we had time to spare. We heard about the heavy traffic in Kuala Lumpur beforehand, hence we decided to download the Grab App and book rides through the App. Grab drivers were very polite and seemed to know less busy roads—this worked out well for us.
We cannot stress enough that if you want to peacefully explore Petronas Twin Towers and Batu Caves, you must get there very early in the morning. By 10 a.m., these places are filled with a multitude of people, you will hardly take any good pictures. The Petronas Towers area is worse—in addition to having so many tourists flocking to the best spot to capture the towers, you have street vendors roaming the area selling phone camera accessories.
On the positive side, the taste of Malaysian food is unbeatable and restaurants are super cheap (when you convert the USD to Malaysian Ringgit, a few bucks will take you a long way). Hotels are also reasonably priced when compared with other Asian destinations such as Hong Kong, Manila, and Singapore. Overall, it was a good experience.
